Frequently asked questions

  • How much does puppy insurance cost?

The cost of puppy insurance depends on different things, including your puppy’s:

    • Breed
    • age
    • If they have pre-existing conditions
    • Where you live
  • Are puppy vaccinations covered by insurance?

Not with a Petsure policy. To take out pet insurance with us, you need to take your puppy for routine check-ups to maintain your cover. Like us, many insurers also won’t cover the cost of any puppy vaccinations.

As part of your insurance, you’ll get cover for illness and accidental injury to your puppy each year as long as you continue to renew your policy.

  • Is pet insurance worth it for a puppy?

Puppy insurance could give you peace of mind when the unexpected happens and you need to pay out a lump sum for vet treatment.

Puppies have weaker immune systems than most adult dogs and are still growing and developing. This puts them at a higher risk of accidents and getting sick or injured.

Discover more reasons why it’s worth thinking about investing in insurance for your puppy.

  • What age can you insure a puppy?

You can take out puppy insurance from 4 weeks of age. Puppies are adventurous and love to explore.

So getting cover sooner rather than later means that you can be prepared for any accidents that could result in vet bills.

  • What is the best pet insurance for a puppy?

As a responsible caregiver for your puppy, it’s natural to want the best for them.

While only you can decide what’s right for their needs, there are a few things to think about when it comes to pet insurance.
